General Questions

What is Mining Ops?

Mining Ops is a free, browser-based Star Citizen mining tool built for coordinated mining crews. It lets you track crew status in real time, manage refinery work orders with live countdown timers, and split aUEC profits automatically. No account, no download, and no spreadsheet required. Just open the link and start mining.

Is Mining Ops free?

Yes, Mining Ops is completely free to use. There is no paywall, no premium tier, no subscription, and no data selling. You can create unlimited mining sessions and invite unlimited crew members at no cost. The project is self-hosted and community-driven.

Do I need an account to use Mining Ops?

No account is required for basic use. Open the app, create or join a session, and you are ready. Optional accounts are available for players who want to save mining loadouts, track personal statistics, or preserve session bookmarks across devices. Even with an account, no email or password is required.

How does the refinery work order timer work?

Submit a work order with your ore type, refinery location, processing method, and duration in minutes. Mining Ops starts a live countdown timer that is visible to all crew members in the session. When the timer reaches zero, the work order card turns green as a visual alert. Any crew member can mark the order as done once the refined cargo is collected.

How do I split aUEC profits with Mining Ops?

Open the Profit tab, enter the total aUEC payout from your cargo sale, select the active crew members who participated in the run, and optionally set custom share weights. Mining Ops calculates each miner's cut instantly and broadcasts the breakdown to the entire crew. This eliminates the need for manual calculations or external spreadsheets.

Which refineries are supported?

All major refineries across Stanton, Pyro, and Nyx are supported. In Stanton: ARC-L1, CRU-L1, MIC-L1, HUR-L1, OL-L1, Seraphim Station, and Lantea. In Pyro: Pyro-Ryder and Demen. In Nyx: Echo-Ryder. Refinery yield data is sourced from UEX and updated daily.

Security and Privacy

Is the account system secure?

Mining Ops uses a key-based account system inspired by privacy-first services. No email address, no password, and no personal data are required. When you create an account, you receive a 16-digit numeric key that serves as your only credential. All account data is encrypted with AES-256-GCM at rest. Accounts that remain inactive for 90 days are automatically purged.

Where is my data stored?

Mining Ops is self-hosted on a private NAS. Session data is automatically deleted after 7 to 14 days. Account data such as loadouts and statistics is AES-256-GCM encrypted at rest. No data is sold, shared, or transmitted to third parties. The only external connection is to UEX for live ore prices and refinery yields.
